Moment One of Unknown Amount

            Moment One: Beast boy reached over Raven’s head and got down her box of tea bags for her.
            “Thank you. I think I’m shrinking.”
            “Nah. Just missing your shoes.”
            She smiled softly. “So, what’re you doing up so late?”
            “I was watching a monster movie in my room. But I go really thirsty so I came in here. What about you? Late night meditation?”
            She nodded. “Yes.” He stood there, staring at his feet, while she fixed herself a cup of tea.
            Then he said, “Hey, your birthday’s in two days, right?”
            “Yes but I told you all…”
            “No parties, I know. But you didn’t say no presents and I already bought your present last month. You have to except it.”
            She sighed heavily and he ran over to the closet. He pulled out a black gift bag and set it on the counter with a wild grin.
            “Open it.”
            She slowly removed the tissue paper and pulled out a book she’d wanted but couldn’t afford. “How did you know I wanted this, Beast boy? Thank you.”
            “Starfire and I went into your favorite bookstore and I asked the clerk guy that has a huge crush on you. By the way, he’s freakish.”
            “I’ll keep that in mind.”
            “There’s more.”
            She pulled out the repaired ring of Azar. “How’d you find someone to fix it?”
            “I know a guy. I thought you’d like it. Azar was your aunt or something, right?”
            “My grandmother, actually. Thank you. What’s the chain for?”
            “I know you don’t like rings. I figured you could wear it on your neck instead.”
            “Well, you have proved me wrong. You are a very thoughtful guy. Help me put it on?”
            He nodded and she lifted her hair. He clasped it and brushed his claws purposely against her neck. She shivered.
           “Is it cold?”
           “Yes.”
           “Sorry.”
           “It’s fine. Thank you again.”
           “Welcome. I’m going back to bed now. Sleep well, Raven.” He cupped her cheek and kissed her chakra gem chastely. “And sweet dreams.”
           Raven blushed and nodded. “Goodnight, Beast boy.”
           He paused by the door. “Hey, Rae?”
           “Yes?”
           “Don’t stay up too late. Robin will get really mad if you're not fully rested for early morning training. And I don’t want to punch him for yelling at you again. He has a hard head.”
            “Okay. And you really should get over that overprotective stuff, you know.”
            “I’ll take that into consideration.” Then he left with a grin. Behind him, Raven fixed herself another cup of tea before carrying the gift bag and book to her room with a smile of her own.
